Red Bull kent Circuit Zandvoort natuurlijk wat beter dan de andere teams dankzij de Jumbo Racedagen. Het team neemt je mee rond het duinencircuit aan boord bij Max Verstappen.

Niet alle teams bestonden al toen er 35 jaar geleden voor het laatste een Grote Prijs Formule 1 op Circuit Zandvoort werd gereden, maar McLaren was er in het verleden wel al bij. Het team uit Woking blikt terug op haar geschiedenis in Zandvoort met deze beelden.

Ook Honda, tegenwoordig motorleverancier voor Red Bull en Toro Rosso, reed in het verleden op Zandvoort. Toen de Japanners in 1964 voor het eerst over het duinencircuit reden, zag het er allemaal net even anders uit.

Jean Todt, voorzitter van de internationale autosportfederatie, is opgetogen met het nieuws. “Het is een circuit met een lange en indrukwekkende geschiedenis en een geweldige uitdaging voor chauffeurs”, zegt de Fransman.

Volgens Racing Point wordt de terugkeer naar Zandvoort episch. Dat Max Verstappen er zin in heeft, lijkt voor het team in roze een evidentie.
